Get Organized
To be a successful writer takes organization, planning, motivation and self-discipline.
But mostly you need to organize yourself so that you have plenty of time to write. No one can work well if their mind and their files are in a mess. You need to end every day with a business plan of what you will be doing the next day so that you don’t waste time trying to think of what you need to write next.
You just get up in the morning and start work.
You also need to organize everything you need to work quickly and efficiently every day, whether it’s information, books, software, stationary, or whatever. Just make sure that you have what’s necessary so that you can work smarter, not harder.
To be a successful writer, you also need to learn HTML. That way you can build and, more importantly, update your own web sites. This will, in the end, save you a lot of time and money when it comes to dealing with web site designers.
And why do you need a web site (or several)? Because a lot of business is conducted on the internet these days and having a web site means you can market yourself, and your writing, globally.
Other things you need to do (aprt from building web sites) can be outsourced to free up your time to write.
And don’t penny pinch when it comes to saving time or it can end up costing you dearly in the long run.
For example, I’ve had many people ask me how tot write a book. I’ve told them they can’t do better than to use the book-writing course, Write Any Book In 28 Days or Less.
“What?” they say. “Pay to learn?”
Then off they go to try it alone for a few months then, eventually, they try the course and have their book written in less than a month.
See what I mean?
If you need to learn how to do something, then buy the resources you need. Because, like I said, it will save you a fortune in writing time later on.
Likewise don’t penny-pinch when it comes to office supplies. Buy what you need, not what’s the cheapest.
I myself am an avid reader so I’m reading and learning all the time, and everything I learn, saves me time and helps me to work more and earn more.
So buy the books you need to help you (and read them!) to get ideas and information on what you need to do to become a successful writer.
But don’t waste your time and money falling for Get-Rich-Quick schemes, because the only person who makes money that way is the person selling the information to the gullible customers.
Instead, just realise that you need to be organized, so that you can free up more time to be productive.
So get organized to achieve more, and let your writing career flourish.
