Marketing
Everyone who runs a business needs to keep marketing to be successful.
You are never going to make money as a writer or author if you don’t keep continually marketing yourself and your work.
When you look at the big, and very famous, companies such as Nike, McDonalds and Pepsi-Cola, you’ll see that even they keep up a continual stream of marketing themselves and their products.
So if these billion dollar companies who are already well-known, need to market themselves, how much more does an unknown author or freelance writer need to market themselves and their work?
Marketing is part of the secret to being successful. You see it doesn’t matter how good you are at what you do. If you don’t market yourself then no one is going to know about you or your business.
But this doesn’t mean that you have to spend thousands of dollars on TV and radio advertising. It does, however, mean that you need to keep up a steady stream of low-cost and no-cost advertising for your books, your web site, your blog or your writing services.
The simplest and no-cost way to advertise on the internet is through article marketing (writing articles and uploading them o article directories) or free classified ads or link swaps.
But whichever way you decide to market yourself, just make sure you always do.
