Fiction Writing
There’s no doubt about it. writing fiction is fun. It’s the only kind of writing where you can really let your imagination run free.
Whether you’re writing short stories or a novel, you can let your mind take you where ever you want to go – real or imaginary.
Of course, fiction writing does have it’s restraints if you’re writing for someone else, say a magazine editor or a book publisher. They will have restrictions on what is or isn’t allowed or acceptable.
But these days it’s easy to surf the net and find fiction editors and publishers who are willing to publish what you want to write.
Or you can write and publish your own novels. That way you’re free to write what you want without wasting time submitting your work to publisher after publisher.
If you want to get started writing fiction, try studying a few fiction magazines to see what they are looking for and then try and write something that fits their editorial guidelines (which you can usually find on their web site or by emailing them).
Then when you’ve been published a few times and you feel really confident, you can start writing your own novel.
