The start of a new year is always the best time to start something new.

And it's not just because the thought of a new year fills you with fresh ideas, but also the holiday break gives you plenty of time to think about what you really want to do with your writing and where you want to let it take you.

So find some time to get quiet, be decisive about what you want to do, and map out your writing plans for 2012.

Being a writer used to be so boring and tedious at times. I know because I lived through it for a while.

I recently read online about one writer who put up a website and his only means of income from it was Pay Per Click advertising from which he was only earning around $1 a day.

But instead of letting it get him down he decided he was going to create 50 websites. That way he would at least have $50 a day income.

Will it work? Who knows? But the point is, he is free to try it.
